Quick Oragami Box Tutorial

You can make these boxes with any size as long as the paper is square. I am doing this tutorial with 12 x 12 cardstock.

First start by folding your paper in half and then in half again, making four equal parts.

Next, you are going to take the corners of each square and fold them into the center.

Keeping the paper folded into a square, you are going to take the sides of the squares and fold them into the center. Open it back up into a square and repeat the process in the opposite direction.

Next you are going to open up your box leaving two opposite corners touching in the center.

Fold the side of the box up.

Take the ends of the box push the sides down to where they are touching: shown below

Once they are together, lift the flap and fold it over into the inside of the box:

Repeat on the other side....and you are done. This box does not require glue, but I put some on the flaps to make sure it stays down. You can also cut a small piece of paper to cover the inside flaps.

If you are making a box and a lid, you will use one size for the lid and cut the bottom 1/2 inch smaller on each side...that way they will nest together.
