I even broke out the prima flowers for this one. I haven't used those in quite a while. And of course, I used some gems. I definitely think they are my favorite embellishment.

Photo Inspiration

Time for another OCL Friday challenge. This weeks challenge is a photo challenge (photo shown above). I loved the colors of this photo. Such pretty blues, greens and yellows perfect for a summer card.

I actually didn't use a lot of stamps on this card. I just made 1 1/2 in squares and corner rounded opposite edges to make the pattern. I have seen this quite a few times and wanted to try it and this was the perfect card to try it on. I used a flower punch and buttons for the centers of each square.

The sentiment I used was from the Out for s Spin set from Our Craft Lounge. I just love this sentiment.

Heavy Metal....well sort of

So I had a few extra minutes today to play in my craft room. That hasn't happened in a while. I made my card today for the Ways to Use it Challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge was to use metal on your card.

Now, I know I didn't go too crazy with the metal, but I was having a hard time coming up with anything other than brads....so I just used them on my card.

The stamp sets are Swinging By and Out for a Spin. Both sets are from Our Craft Lounge.

Happy Monday...I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was great, but went way to fast.

Well, today is the first Monday in quite a few weeks that I was able to sneak away to my craft room. I love to do the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but I just have been to busy to play. I actually combine two challenge this week. Along with the sketch challenge I did the Try a New Technique challenge at Splitcoast. That challenge was to create a paper button. This was a super fun and super easy technique that I know I will be doing a lot.

Happy Friday. This weeks Our Craft Lounge challenge is to use the Paper Piecing technique. I know it is such a simple technique, but I always forget about it. What an easy way to add color and texture to your images.

I used the cute little birds from the Tweet Thang set and the sentiment is from the Say it With Flowers set. I decided to add some stitching at the top. I actually haven't been stitching on my cards as much, but decided to break out the sewing machine for this one. And I tried to limit my use of Kraft (Crumb Cake) paper .... I only used a little bit on one layer. I hand cut the sun and popped it up.

Well, its Monday (insert sad face). I had a great weekend, but it just went entirely too fast. I cannot believe that is is May already either. This year is just flying by.

So onto my card for today. I made this card for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast. Today was a color challenge and the colors were: Chocolate, Sand, Baby Blue and White.

I ordered a bunch of new goodies from Amuse and I couldn't wait to play with them. The sets I used were Chirrup and Ovalicious. Sunny Days...

Happy Friday. Are you ready for summer? Normally, I am more of a fall person, but I am a little tired of the cold weather here in PA and could use some sunshine. So I decided to make a summery card today for the OCL Challenge.

The Our Craft Lounge challenge for today was a sketch challenge designed by Deb Felts. This one was a lot of fun. I actually made two other cards, but I didn't like the way they looked. That triangle was tricky, but I do really like the way the card turned out in the end.

To create my beach scene I sponged the clouds using Baja Breeze ink. For the sand I just stamped the sand image from the Beach Days set (OCL) and used Sparkly Fluff to make it sparkle a little, just like sand does.

Easter Wreath

Happy Friday. Have you ever had one of those weeks where you start the week with a huge to do list and plan on getting it done, but then all of the sudden its Friday and you only have half of it done. Well, that was my week. I am hoping to get a lot of it done today and tomorrow. That way I can spend some time in my craft room next week.

I was only able to sneak into my craft room one day this week to create my card for todays challenge at Our Craft Lounge. The challenge this week was to use punches or die cuts on your card. I made a wreath out of circles and used the flower stamp from the Tweet Thang set. I also used a punch to cut the tag and used the sentiment from the Tea Time set.

Happy Friday. I have had such a busy week and I am excited for the weekend. Especially because I don't have to work at all this weekend....yay me!!

I made my card today for the Our Craft Lounge weekly challenge. This challenge was to create a clean and simple card and to use something clear somewhere on your card. I always forget I have acetate sheets and how fun they are to work with. So here is my card:

I used the cute butterfly stamp from the Tweet Thang set from OCL. I stamped the image both on blue and on the acetate and cut them out. I then adhered them to the gray layer and folded the clear wings up. I have shown a close up here:

I am so happy

Yesterday was a great day. My very good friend had her first perfect little baby boy after at least 8 years of infertility issues. I am overjoyed for her and her family and I can't wait to go to the hospital today and meet him.

So I had made this as an ATC and then adhered it to a small card to make it into a gift card holder. I am attaching it to a little teddy bear to take with me to the hospital today.

Happy Monday everyone...I really hate Mondays, but so far this one isn't too terrible.

I loved all the bright colors, but I chose to keep my card very simple. Just a few circles and a cutout onesie and done. So super simple, but I think it turned out super cute for a quick baby card.

Happy Friday.....It's time for another fun challenge at Our Craft Lounge Blog. The challenge this week was a photo inspiration challenge (photo shown above). Since there was a birthday cake in the picture, I decided to do a birthday card.

I used Very Vanilla cardstock behind the bike image, which is the same color as the icing on the cake. Then I added some hand stitched lines down the sides of the cake in the same colors as the stitched icing on the cake. Then I added some buttons to match the little circle on the cake. I also added a scallop edge on the bottom of the card, like on the bottom of the cake plate.

I really had fun with this challenge and I hope you stop by the OCL Blog and try this one out for yourselves.

Super Exciting News.....

I am so excited to announce that I was chosen to be a guest designer for Our Craft Lounge. I will be joining the wonderful ladies of the OCL design team for the months of April and May. Hello...I have made this card today for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge today was to use a cut up sentiment. I have seen this type of card style made before with the strips of card stock made to look like ribbon and I really wanted to try it. I am not loving the sentiment, but I couldn't find one that fit the way I wanted. However, I do love the ribbon look and I will definitely try this one again....maybe with an image next time.

My card today was for two challenges: the Color Throwdown and the Mojo Monday Sketch (both shown above).

The colors for the Throwdown were so fun.....my favorite color is orange so I enjoyed working with it. And of course, I added Crumb Cake because it is my absolute favorite neutral and it seems like I am using it on every card these days.

I dusted off one of my Bella stamps. I can't believe how long it has been since I used any of them. I forgot how fun they were to use.

I made my card today for the Our Craft Lounge weekly challenge. The challenge was to create a clean and simple card and to focus on embossing. I once a again used the Joy in the Little Things set from OCL. I heat embossed the little mushroom and the sentiment on Crumb Cake paper with white embossing powder. And I used a polka dot embossing folder for my background to use the dry embossing technique as well.

I cut the mushroom out and popped it up to give the card some dimension and added just a small amount of color with my pastel chalks. I also popped up the Crumb Cake layer on the white.

I made this card for todays Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge was to make something "outside the box". We were to make our image go over the edge of the frame. I actually used a few layers on this card, which might make my card not quite clean and simple, but I had a tough time only using one or two layers.

I started with a baja blue circle and some crumb cake circles. I tore the kraft circles and sponged them to make the sand and then stitched around the edge of the circle. I added my surfboards and stamped the sentiment. Even with the stitching, this card only took me about 15 minutes.

I just love this new set from Our Craft Lounge. It is called Joy in the Little Things and it is so cute!!

I actually made this card for three challenges today. I don't usually combine more than two challenges on a card, but I got called into work this afternoon, so I only had enough time to make one card.

The first challenge is the Color Throwdown. The colors were: Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake. I used all of the colors on the cute little mushrooms. The second challenge was the Our Craft Lounge weekly challenge. The challenge was to use bling on your card. I decided to use stickles, glitter pen and crystal gems to add my bling. Hello everyone. Well after a long week of everyone being sick and a lot of running around, I was finally able to hide out in my stamp room for a bit tonight. I created this card for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. This one was a lot of fun.

I have had the Love Notes set from Verve for a few weeks now, but have yet to ink it up. It is mostly a Valentine set, but I wanted to still use it for this challenge. I chose some bright colors because I am so ready for warmer weather and I really love oranges and blues together.

I kind of cheated and used a peachy pink color for his skin tone instead of actually using pretty in pink.

The second challenge is the Sketch challenge from Splitcoast. I really like the four squares on this sketch. I stitched around each square and distressed the edges to give them some texture. I also stitched down the brown line.

What a tough challenge week so far. First is the sketch from the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, which doesn't look like it would be that difficult, but boy did I struggle with it. Then the colors at the Splitcoast Color Challenge were also difficult for me this week. The colors were:

Happy Monday!! I actually love Mondays. First, I have Mondays off so I don't have to go to work and it is one of my favorite challenges of the week: the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge.

The challenge today is shown above and it was to create a round or square card using the sketch. I did the circle card, but adhered it to a square base to that my tag worked better. I had a lot of fun with this one. I created a sun using a 1" circle punch and hand cut the rays and the clouds. I wanted to make this card super cute for my super cute daughter.

I made my card today for the Free for all challenge over at Splitcoast. The challenge today was Warm and Fuzzy: to add a warm color and either flocking, flower soft or a fuzzy animal stamp to your card.

I made this card today for the Ways to use it challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge was to use a rainbow somewhere on your card. I decided to create a rainbow using tons of buttons. I had a lot of fun with this one.

The clouds are printed from the computer and then sponged with Baja Breeze ink from Stampin Up. The sentiment is from the Signature Greetings set from Papertrey, Ink. The background paper is Crumb Cake also from Stampin Up. Not a lot of supplies today... pretty quick challenge.

Happy Snowy Wednesday! We got about another 3 inches of snow in the last couple of hours and they are calling for a few more before the end of the night. I wonder if we will have another snow day tomorrow.

I had some major stamping block today. I cannot believe how long this card took me to make. I think I tried 20 different ideas before I found one that worked. I have such a hard time with using purple and reds together. To me it all looks like something for the Red Hats. I did alot of sewing on this card....lately is seems I am sewing on all of my cards. I think it is just a quick way to add such detail to a card.

The image was gifted to me a few years ago from a stamping friend so I do not know which company it is from. I colored the image with a combination of Prismacolor pencils with odorless mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.

Baby it's cold outside.....

No actually, its FREEZING. This was after the sun had been up a few hours. Some of my friends and family reported -11 to -20 on their thermometers. I guess that is what I get for living in Pennsylvania.

So onto my card:

I made this card for the Mojo Monday Sketch (shown below). I had such a hard time with this one. When I first saw the sketch I thought it would be an easy one, but I had serious issues with the bow. I think I tied 10 of them before I got one I liked. And after I finished the card I realized that there isn't one stamp on it. Not that there has to be, I just didn't realize I didn't use one until everything was finished.

Clean and Simple Valentine

So I can't sleep and the Monday CAS challenge at Splitcoast was posted early...So what a better way to kill the hours until I can finally fall asleep than to stamp.

The challenge for today was to make a clean and simple card using flourishes. I used the large heart punch (once again..lol) and stamped my flourish directly on the heart. I sponged the edges on the top layer of Crumb Cake with White ink to make it stand out from the bottom layer.

Well we kind of had another snow day today. We had a two hour delay so the kids didn't have to be at school until 10:00 and then they let them out early at 1:00. So they only went to school for three hours. So I am considering that a snow day.

I used the love stamp from KI Memories and stamped it in the same color ink as the paper. I decided to keep it simple today because it is harder to stamp with all the kiddos home.

What a beautiful snowy day here in Pennsylvania. I just love a fresh dusting of the white stuff. It makes everything look so pretty. But, enough about the weather...how is everyone today? Mojo Monday - on Tuesday

I really wanted to participate in the Mojo Monday Challenge this week, but yesterday just was too busy...so I made sure I set some time aside to do it today. I loved this layout and I thought it would be perfect for a Christmas/Winter Card. So here is the sketch and my card:

I decided to use lots of shimmer on this card. I used little gems on the snowflake, below the sentiment and below the image. I also used white and a shimmery blue ribbon. I used my sewing machine to add a border to the snowflake and down the one side of the card. Here is a list of the supplies that I used:

MSB Saturday Challenge

This weeks MSB challenge is to create a #10 card (my card measured 9 X 4 inches finished). I have never actually made a card this size and it was a lot of fun.

I did a lot of stitching and some distressed edges on the card to make it look a little rustic like the image. This image is just gorgeous!!

I colored it with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Make sure you check out the MSB blog later today for all of the challenge details.

What a crazy week for me. I cannot believe how busy I have been now that the kids are out of school.

I decided to use this awesome hat image for this one. I have had it since the store opened and I haven't used it yet and this sketch was perfect for it. I used BO Bunny DP and some Gems to dress up the card. The coloring was done with my prismacolor markers.

I used an image that was given to me from my Secret Sister on Splitcoast. She has given me several and I have loved using them all. I colored this image with both my prismacolor pencils and markers. The bottom layers I scored in a diagonal pattern with my Scor-Pal. The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Studio G.

Modern Sugar Blvd is throwing a BINGO party for this months release. The Bingo Party will be held on Thursday, June 11th at the Modern Sugar BLVD page on PCP (paper craft planet) at 9 pm EST (8 pm CST, 7 pm MST, 6 pm PST) and last until 12 pm EST. Here are the details:

How you Play Virtual Bingo Online:

First, let's define what a "card" is in Virtual Bingo. In regular bingo you get a card with 25 squares and you match up the rows and columns (B1, etc). In virtual bingo, there is not an actual card - it's a LIST of 25 words. You can keep it in LIST form or you can put it in a grid form like a traditional bingo card. However, since it's virtual and you can't see participant's cards - there is no need to worry about getting 5 in a row or anything like that.
The winner is the first person to mark off all 25 words on her "card". It's basically blackout bingo.

1. A List of Bingo Words will be posted at the MSB blog.

2. Participants will be invited to select 25 words from the list to create their Bingo card. It is "virtual" so they just need a list - it doesn't have to be in a particular format at all. Participants can email their list of 25 words at any time but no later than 8:55 pm EST on the night of the release party Bingo. (E-mail address will be listed on the Blog)

3. During the release party, we will chat on the chat board at PCP. The first 5 Bingo words will be called at 9pm EST. And will be continued to be called, 5 words at a time, throughout the evening, about every 15 minutes or so.

4. Also during the release party, Challenges and Questions will be posted in the Conversation area of the PCP page. Some prizes will be given for this - not all questions will have a prize attached but a random winner will be drawn for each challenge and will win their choice of image from the store.

5. Anyone who wants to participate will get one "card" (which is a list of 25 words) for the Bingo. You can earn additional "cards" by shopping at the MSB store anytime during the week. The more "cards" you have, the better chance you have of winning! You can earn an additional "card" by shopping in the store prior to the Bingo party. You will receive an additional card for every $10 you order in images. The bonus "cards" still need to be completed and emailed to the Bingo email by 8:55 EST on the night of the release party Bingo.

6. The first person to yell BINGO on the PCP chat page will win ---- once her "card" has been pulled up and verified. The prize: the entire 6-11 Release!!!

My Father, My Anchor

This is a father's day card that I made using another fabulous image from The Digi Shack. I kept it pretty simple. I used Barely Banana, Going Gray and Riding Hood Red as my base colors. I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol and then I stitched around the edges. Make sure you head to The Digi Shack to check out all of the fabulous Father's Day Images.

Time for another Sugarlicious Saturday challenge from Modern Sugar Blvd. This one is so fun!!!

So you know how it is kind of a tradition when a bride gets married to have the something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue with her when she gets married for good luck...well, this week your card should have the same.

The challenge is to create a "Card Wedding" card with:

Something old - use scraps of ribbon or paper
Something new - use a new image from MSB
Something borrowed - something given to you from a friend
Something blue - obviously, you have to use something blue on your card.

TGIF!!! The kiddos are done with school and I am so excited that I will get to sleep in a little bit now. It is going to be a little crazy for my stamping having all three kids here all day, but the fact that I don't have to get up so early and run around all day is just great!

MSB Release and Challenge!!!

Contest Information

This is a huge contest to go along with the release that is happening on the 30th of May!!!!! Modern Sugar Blvd wants you to create a project (card, 3D item, etc.) using any MSB digi stamp. You can create this project any way you would like. So what is the prize you ask? Well, two...yes I said two lucky participants will win the ENTIRE set of MSB digi images that are being released on the 30th. And there will be three other participants that will win 3 images....so there will be a total of 5 winners!!

You can enter as many times you would like! The winners will choosen at random, so the more times you enter the more chances you will have to win!!!

All you need to do is post your creation or creations on your blog and then link the creation back to the Store. Then comment back to the challenge post at the MSB Blog with your blog address and the date you post or posted your creations on so we can take a peek at your pretty creations!!

MSB will be creating a customer gallery with all the creations made from this contest so by commenting back on the challenge post you give MSB permission to show off your creation on the store site and their blog.

I decided to use a stamp set that I haven't touched in a while. I stamped the vases on colored paper and cut them out. After I colored the flowers I used stickles for some shimmer. I made a pretty simple card this time.
